Lumia 940 and 940 XL: technical data disclosed?

Microsoft would have some cards to play on smartphones and society sector could soon release two new high-end handsets: the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL.

In the month of May, we reported that Microsoft planchait on two new smartphones in its Lumia range. Unlike the multitude of terminals coveting first-time buyers, these two devices would position on the high end. Baptized internally Cityman and Talkman, they should be known under the trade names Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL.

In announcing the elimination of 7,800 positions primarily affecting its mobile division, Microsoft explained want to focus on three areas: the entry level, with inexpensive smartphones, mainly for positioning in emerging markets, high-end for Windows Phone fans, and the company. Microsoft would have to rationalize production of smartphones and we imagine for example that the series 4xx / 5xx / 6xx will be combined to provide one or two affordable smartphones, a strategy that could be applied to 7xx / 8xx series to target companies.

According to Evan Blass, @evleaks on Twitter, Microsoft would have in the pipeline no less than six coming terminals. The specialized blog explains MyWindows.nl have recovered some details on Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, which would fly a polycarbonate chassis. Of course Microsoft has not confirmed these specifications. They must be taken with tweezers.

According to reports, the Lumia 940 or Talkman embark:
  • A full HD 5.2 inch screen (for a resolution of 1920 × 1080);
  • a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chip;
  • 3 GB of RAM;
  • 32GB of storage
  • a micro SD card reader;
  • a main camera 20 megapixel PureView technology;
  • a front camera of 5 megapixels with a triple LED flash;
  • an ocular scanner.

Here also the supposed technical components of the Lumia 940 XL or Cityman:
  • A Quad HD display of 5.7 inches (for a definition of 2560 × 1440);
  • a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip;
  • 3 GB of RAM;
  • 32 GB of storage;
  • a micro SD card reader;
  • a main camera 20 megapixel PureView technology;
  • a front camera of 5 megapixels with a triple LED flash;
  • an ocular scanner.

These smartphones take care of the Continuum functionality Windows 10 initially presented by Microsoft at 29 September. Smartphone, it offers to enable an optimized layout when a keyboard and mouse are connected. Microsoft will also release an early 2016 adapter sold for about 100 euros.
