AOL Webmail goes unlimited

AOL logoDetermined to position itself as an online service provider and not as a simple Internet access provider, AOL announced this week a new version of its messaging AOL Webmail which, for the occasion, acquires capacity unlimited storage for all users who open an account via the portal aol.fr. This new webmail also directly integrates AIM instant messaging, allowing users of the service to chat directly from the reception page of their e-mails. We find a similar feature in Google's Gmail, which integrates a web version of Google Talk software, as in the messaging portal 10 !.

AOL has also undertaken to unify its various services: a unique identifier used to connect to each of them and the webmail address book will be automatically synchronized with eg the AIM instant messaging account. AOL now claims 6.2 million unique visitors per month in France for its various services and websites.Edited on 13/12/2010 at 4:47 p.m.
